Smt. Niramla Sitharaman today announced Rs 1.70 Lakh Crore relief package under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana for the poor to help them fight the battle against Corona Virus.

Introduction:
The umbrella Central Sector Scheme of this Ministry called the "Scheme to Promote Voluntary Action for Persons with Disabilities" was revised w.e.f. 01.04.2003 and was renamed as the "Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS)". However, while revision of the scheme took place in 2003, the cost norms of 1999 had remained unchanged. The revision of the cost norms has become imperative to compensate for the price rise.

The Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities was announced in June, 2006. It provides that a post-matric scholarship scheme for meritorious students from minority communities would be implemented. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) TO HELP/SIMPLIFY ONLINE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS UNDER PRE­MATRIC, POST MATRIC AND MERIT CUM MEANS BASED SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMES FOR MINORITIES.

OBJECTIVE OF SCHEME
The scholarship at pre-matric level will encourage parents from minority communities to send their school going children to school, lighten their financial burden on school education and sustain their efforts to support their children to complete school education. 

MERIT CUM MEANS BASED SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE MINORITY COMMUNITIES. A CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SCHEME.

Through this scheme Financial assistance will be given to pursue graduate level or post graduate level technical and professional courses from a recognized institution.

 

Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme. A J&K State Government Scheme.

Under the Scheme Scholarships are provided for the benefit of the Children belonging to Schedule Caste, Physically Handicapped and Other Backward Class and to the children whose parents are engaged in unclean occupation. 

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. A J&K State Government Scheme.

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Schedule Caste students, OBCs and physically handicapped students studying at Post Matriculation or Post Secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.

Post Matric Scholarship for Minority. A J&K State Government Scheme.

The objective of the Scheme is to award Scholarships to Meritorious Students belonging to Economically Weaker Sections of Minority Community so as to provide them better opportunities for Higher Education, increase their rate of Attainment in Higher Education and enhance their Employability. Under this Scheme 30% of Scholarship is earmarked for Female Students. In case sufficient number of eligible Female Student are not available, then the balance earmarked scholarship may be awarded to eligible Male Students. 

Contributory Social Security Scheme for marginal workers. A State Government Scheme.

The Department of Social Welfare Department has launched a scheme “Contributory Social Security Scheme” for marginal workers to provide them social security. Under the scheme Rs. 100/- is contributed by the Govt. and equal amount by the beneficiaries and account is opened for the period of 10 years. After completion of this period the beneficiary can withdraw accumulated amount along with interest. 

Aam Aadmi Bima Yojna. A J&K State Government Initiative.

Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana (AABY) Scheme introduced by the Govt. of India to extend death and disability insurance cover to rural landless houseless of J&K State through Life Insurance corporation of India (LIC).

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. A central government Scheme.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is a social welfare scheme. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the government aims to provide free LPG connections for the women from the BPL households.

Free Health Checkup for Pregnant Women -Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA). A Central Government Initiative.

Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan or Yojana is a new initiative of the Narendra Modi Government to provide free medical checkup to the pregnant women assuring their good health and birth of a healthy child. It is launched on June 9, 2016.

Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana. A Central government Scheme.

Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana (PMYY), launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is a new scheme to scale up an ecosystem of entrepreneurship for youngsters. Through this scheme, the central government will arrange entrepreneurship education and training programs for youngsters for next 5 years.

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana in Haryana. A central Government Scheme.

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana a central government scheme has been launched by the state government of Haryana to provided accidental insurance cover to all citizens of Haryana. Under this scheme, the government will provide an insurance amount upto Rs. 2 lakh each insured candidate in case of accidental death, and disability (complete/half loss of eye-sight or loss of both hands/feet) due to an accident.

12 Lakh Houses to be constructed in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) 2017-18. A Central Government Scheme.

Central government aims to ensure housing for all by the year 2022 through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The government has so far sanctioned construction of 18.76 lakhs houses across the country. Out of total, funding for construction of 13.06 Lakh homes have been issued.

Apply for Demand Survey for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Haryana. A State Government Initiative.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana demand survey application forms are now being invited in Haryana for selection of eligible beneficiaries. The state government is inviting application forms for PMAY demand survey through local bodies from June 1. Apply before 15 July, 2017.
